    General Summary/Objective:

    The Budget Coordinator is responsible for duties associated with developing and negotiating clinical trial budgets

    Duties/Responsibilities:            

    1. Functions as a key contact person between BRANY staff, sites, pharmaceutical companies, or CROs for clinical trial budget) issues.
    2. Reviews, edits, and negotiates budgets with Pharmaceutical or CRO Companies on a per trial basis to maximize revenue.
    3. Review and refine draft budgets prepared by CTAT assistants / associates
    4. Assess any changes requested by sponsor and / or site and incorporate them into draft
    5. Processes budget and contract amendments
    6. Edits and returns comments on budgets within 24 48 hours of their receipt.
    7. Follows up with sponsor and site on a timely basis to ensure a rapid turnaround of all budgets.
    8. Review and disseminate CTCA determinations to sites.
    9. Identifies items that require invoices in the final contract and distinguishes pass through/overhead items to ensure invoices generated by staff members accurately reflect Administrative Fees, Upfront payments, and Advances.
    10. Ensures that final contract terms are consistent with the IRB approved informed consent document for each study as appropriate.
    11. Requests Fund numbers from Northwell sites for payment purposes as needed. Updates appropriate databases and spreadsheets as required.
    12. Routinely updates management about the status of ongoing projects.
    13. Maintain and update information in BRANY computer databases as applicable.
    14. Train and develop new or inexperienced staff in the Department or BRANY staff.
    15. Assist management or Department staff in other activities as needed.
    16. Use communication skills to establish and maintain good working relationships outside of BRANY as needed.
    17. Use writing skills to effectively communicate via email and written correspondence.
    18. Work independently, take initiative and troubleshoot daily routine problems as they occur. Develop or recommend a plan of corrective action for non-routine issues.
    19. Work as a team member on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects. (*)
    20. Establish and maintain good working relationships with site liaisons, investigators, and ancillary departments at the various sites.

    Qualifications


    Education required:    

    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent life experience. Science or Health related degree preferred

    Experience Required: 

    Microsoft Office at the intermediate level or above. Medical terminology, clinical trials, billing, and QuickBooks experience preferred.

    Physical Demands and Environment:    

    This position operates in an office environment using standard office equipment. It is largely a deskbound role. Some filing is required involving the ability to lift files, open cabinets, and bend or stand, as necessary. The position requires the individual to see, talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands, fingers, and reach with hands and arms, or to be able to type and communicate electronically without impediment.

    Minimal or no travel is expected for this position

    Salary: 

    $52,000 - $58,000 annually
