Conducts research and testing to address specific medical conditions, improve the performance of existing devices, and develop new products. Being a Biomedical Engineer collaborates with medical professionals to gather information for product specifications. Ensures that designs and devices meet regulatory, safety, and quality requirements and standards, such as the FDA regulations and ISO standards. Additionally, Biomedical Engineer utilizes or develops software to perform testing or integrate with devices. Requires a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or a related engineering or science discipline. Typically reports to a manager. The Biomedical Engineer work is closely managed.     Purpose of Position

    To assist the Biomedical Engineering (BME) program in its pilot project of instituting learning coaches. Learning coaches are hired to do three things:

    1) review student work (like a TA)

    2) Mentor students 1-on-1 weekly

    3) mentor innovation projects weekly

    The overall goal is to improve retention and encourage recruitment.

    Duties & Responsibilities
    Organize the learning coaches’ activities.
    Review tokens as needed.
    Required Competencies
    Familiarity with innovation-based learning
    Familiarity with anatomy and physiology from an engineering viewpoint.
    Home computer and internet access
    Minimum Requirements
    A graduate engineering degree (M.S.)
    Familiarity with innovation-Based Learning
    Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

    Completing a Ph.D. or possessing Ph.D.
    Experience in teaching engineering/teaching certification
