Biomedical Engineer applies engineering and scientific principles and methodologies to design and develop medical technologies and devices to support and enhance patient care and improve healthcare outcomes. Conducts research and testing to address specific medical conditions, improve the performance of existing devices, and develop new products. Being a Biomedical Engineer collaborates with medical professionals to gather information for product specifications. Ensures that designs and devices meet regulatory, safety, and quality requirements and standards, such as the FDA regulations and ISO standards. Additionally, Biomedical Engineer utilizes or develops software to perform testing or integrate with devices. Requires a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or a related engineering or science discipline. Typically reports to a manager. The Biomedical Engineer work is closely managed.     About this Role

    The Engineer I will provide engineering, design and drafting in the preparation of all projects assigned. The Engineer I will provide assistance/direction on engineering projects and establish priorities, while providing innovation tools to support the long-term vision of the department and company.

    What You'll Do

    • Provide detailed engineering, design and planning assessments and recommendations
    • Evaluate system operations, and provide project scope development for overhead and underground utility systems
    • Evaluate electrical power systems and design overhead/underground replacements per utility standards
    • Develop/modify accurate estimates and engineering drawings using BlueBeam (PDF software), AutoCAD and/or GIS software
    • Meet with manager, engineers and colleagues to review status of each project and determine an appropriate communication course of action
    • Visit site plan to determine the condition of existing utility and collecting necessary information for each project
    • Coordinate ROW acquisition, planning, and design functions through regular project updates for schedule adherence and work forecast
    • Work a minimum of 40 hours a week on a regular basis, with possible OT
    • Additional duties as needed and/or assigned
