Biomedical Engineer jobs in Boca Raton, FL
Biomedical Engineer applies engineering and scientific principles and methodologies to design and develop medical technologies and devices to support and enhance patient care and improve healthcare outcomes. Conducts research and testing to address specific medical conditions, improve the performance of existing devices, and develop new products. Being a Biomedical Engineer collaborates with medical professionals to gather information for product specifications. Ensures that designs and devices meet regulatory, safety, and quality requirements and standards, such as the FDA regulations and ISO standards. Additionally, Biomedical Engineer utilizes or develops software to perform testing or integrate with devices. Requires a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering or a related engineering or science discipline. Typically reports to a manager. The Biomedical Engineer work is closely managed. Program Directors are responsible for leveraging their expertise to develop, maintain and deliver education services to students through:
Creating and Maintaining core curriculum across the institution
Communicating and monitoring delivery of core curriculum
Preparing course plans and material
Delivering courses
Monitoring progress/attendance
Advising students
Recording grades and submitting reports
We are particularly interested to receive applications from individuals with experience engaging undergraduate students and who demonstrate commitment to preparing undergraduates for professional training/graduate school through experiential learning, especially undergraduate research. The ideal candidate will have experience mentoring faculty in evidence-based best practices in teaching and learning. Must have at least a Masters and 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline or related field(s).
Teaching assignments for this position may include courses in Anatomy & Physiology, Biology of Cancer, Medical Terminology, or other courses in the candidate's field of study.
