    • Coordinate biology tasks including field logistics and overseeing quality.
    • Prepare field survey reports, and assist with preparation of impact analyses, and mitigation and monitoring plans.
    • Direct or indirect experience with environmental due diligence studies, natural/biological resources management, ecological assessments, environmental impact analysis, and habitat conservation planning is a bonus.
    • Support project compliance with permit conditions related to various state and federal laws including the Endangered Species Act (ESA), NEPA and HEPA documents (EIS/EAs)
    • Support senior biologists and project managers with client and agency communication.

    Qualifications:

    • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in applicable field, such as biological science, wildlife ecology, environmental science, or natural resources management.
    • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience conducting field surveys and identifying wildlife in the Hawaiian Islands.
    • Experience with electronic data collection (e.g., ArcGis Field Maps, Garmin, Trimble).
    • Ability to travel/hike to field sites, and conduct fieldwork in remote locations and sometimes inclement weather and rugged terrain.
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able and willing to occasionally travel to other islands for field assignments.
    • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
    • Commitment to quality in both work processes and products, and willingness to assume new roles are critical.
    • Demonstrated experience preparing technical reports.
    • Currently a resident of the State of Hawaii and located on the island of O‘ahu.
    • Applied knowledge of ecological assessments, environmental impact analysis, environmental due diligence studies, natural/biological resources management, and habitat conservation planning a bonus.
    • Prior experience in private sector or environmental consulting is desirable.
    • A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restriction.
