RAI-II Molecular Biologist/Biochemist

  • We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate I-II in molecular biology and biochemistry to support the delivery of epigenetic reagent and tool development and manufacturing.

    Summary:

    The Research Associate I-II is a key driver of success in developing and delivering products and services at EpiCypher®. The Research Associate works under the supervision of the Senior Director of Production to design and execute new experiments with relative independence, including experimental design and troubleshooting.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Laboratory work will require development efforts employing assigned assays and techniques.
    • Engage across other teams to ensure timely delivery of materials.
    • Independently organize materials, associated documentation, data, and results for multiple ongoing projects.
    • Completion of assigned work expeditiously to meet projected order fulfillment schedules and the generation of new materials needed to complete research and development (R&D) projects.
    • Coordinate and prioritize the timely generation of new materials needed to complete research and development (R&D) projects.
    • Analyze results of experiments and report to the Senior Director of Production.

    Credentials and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or related field.
    • BS with minimum of two or more years or MS with at least one year of direct lab experience in an industry setting is highly preferred.
    • Direct experience with PCR, recombinant protein expression and purification, FPLC, HPLC, PAGE, and Western Blotting highly preferred.
    • Solid nucleic acid molecular biology or protein biochemistry background.
    • Solid scientific background working with molecular biology and biochemical methodology.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Strong background with adaptability to working on new projects and initiative to seek new opportunities.
    • Conceptual understanding of epigenetics is a plus.
    • Ability to work towards specific goals under minimal supervision.
    • Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
    • Ability to multi-task and complete parallel projects.
    • Excellent communication and organization skills.
    • Excellent critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
    • Works equally well individually and as part of a team.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    Physical Demands:

    While performing the duties of the Research Associate position, the employee must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods as well as move about inside the office and lab. The employee must be able to operate a computer and necessary lab equipment. The employee must be able to position self to move objects weighing up to 15 pounds throughout the workday.
