Bindery Technician performs various machine and manual operations to complete print binding and finishing processes. Completes tasks including measuring, cutting, collating, inserting, folding, stapling, or gluing to produce finished bound products. Being a Bindery Technician sets up, operates, tends, and maintains bindery equipment. Inspects equipment for malfunctions, troubleshoots and resolves problems. Additionally, Bindery Technician follows all required quality and safety procedures. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Bindery Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Magnolia Press is seeking an experienced, quality oriented Press Operator to join our team. Must have recent experience running and maintaining small offset presses. Experience with Heidleberg GTO, Ryobi, and Halm jet press would be a plus. Must be reliable and willing to work as a team to maintain our high quality standards.
This position may also include bindery responsibilities for Muller Martini 8 pocket saddle stitcher 3 knife trimmer and MBO folder continuous feeder.
Must have relevant print shop exeperience, minimum 3 years
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate presses according to job specifications
- Load and unload materials onto the press
- Monitor press operations to ensure quality and efficiency
- Make adjustments to press settings as needed
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of presses
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues that may arise during production
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area
- Follow production ticket specifications, and communicate with customer service and production staff
- Position requires standing and walking throughout the day, operating various equipment, moving and shifting, and lifting up to 50 pounds
Experience
To be successful in this role, you should have the following experience:
- Previous experience operating offset presses
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment
