Bindery Technician performs various machine and manual operations to complete print binding and finishing processes. Completes tasks including measuring, cutting, collating, inserting, folding, stapling, or gluing to produce finished bound products. Being a Bindery Technician sets up, operates, tends, and maintains bindery equipment. Inspects equipment for malfunctions, troubleshoots and resolves problems. Additionally, Bindery Technician follows all required quality and safety procedures. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Bindery Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Position Summary
This position will be working in a manufacturing facility, producing quality work with machines and by hand as efficiently as possible.
It will be in a team atmosphere working as
a team member. This Operator 1 Team Member will primarily take instruction from the Shift Lead / Supervisor.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
This position will be primarily responsible for efficiently operating a variety of machines located in the B-2 Web Bindery.
Most of these machines will require a crew to
operate. The responsibility of the crew safety starts with the primary operator. On occasion, this Operator 1 position will require leading a group of employees in a small work cell,
where handwork is involved.
