Bindery Technician performs various machine and manual operations to complete print binding and finishing processes. Completes tasks including measuring, cutting, collating, inserting, folding, stapling, or gluing to produce finished bound products. Being a Bindery Technician sets up, operates, tends, and maintains bindery equipment. Inspects equipment for malfunctions, troubleshoots and resolves problems. Additionally, Bindery Technician follows all required quality and safety procedures. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Bindery Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. - Performs all duties in a safe manner. Practices good housekeeping in work area.
- High School diploma or GED.
- 5 years of experience in maintenance in a manufacturing environment, or a two-year associate degree in technology plus 5 years of experience.
- Licensed Electrician.
- Experience in the following core areas: hydraulics, mechanical, electrical, PLC logic, CNC and pneumatics.
- Experience with Allen Bradly RS500/RS5000, GE Series 9030, Koyo (Direct Soft 32), Eaton.
- Must have a strong familiarity and knowledge of metal fabrication equipment and processes, to include operation of presses, shears, welding units and overhead cranes and hoisting systems.
- Must have ability to comprehend complex internal documents such as bills of materials, blue prints, machine schematics, PLC logic diagrams, electrical diagrams and work orders.
- Must have experience using electric, pneumatic, hand tools and forklifts.
- Experience using pressure gauges and precision measuring instruments.
- Must have demonstrated ability to rely upon experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals.
