    The Business Systems Analyst will elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs within the supply chain and production areas, including demand/supply planning, procure to pay, master data, production processing for final assemblies, production processing for variant configuration and inventory management.

    The successful candidate will collaborate with stakeholders to gather and compile user requirements and understand the technology solutions they require. The Business Systems Analyst will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to support the business in their technology decisions. The Business Systems Analyst will play a pivotal role in ensuring IT’s understanding of business requirements and execution in delivering on those requirements. The Business Systems Analyst will have fluent knowledge in the SAP MM/PP areas.

    Essential Job Functions:

    Strategy & Planning

    • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals, and actively participate in system issue resolution.
    • Lead design sessions in prototyping new systems for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
    • Identify and establish scope and parameters of requirements analysis on a project-by-project basis to define project impact, outcome criteria, and metrics.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders and project team to prioritize collected requirements and identify solutions.
    • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.

    Acquisition & Deployment

    • Assist in conducting research on software and hardware products to meet agreed-upon requirements and to support purchasing efforts.
    • Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancement releases to existing applications.

    Operational Management

    • Analyze and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.
    • Develop and utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirements specifications.
    • Translate conceptual user requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to developers/project team.
    • Where applicable, develop prototypes of interfaces and attributes based on user requirements.
    • Create process models, system design proposals, specifications, diagrams, and charts to provide direction to developers and/or the project team.
    • Develop and conduct peer reviews of business requirements to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpreted.
    • Assist with the interpretation of user requirements into feasible options and communicate these back to the business stakeholders.
    • Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the project lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.
    • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for modified and new systems, and other post-implementation support.
    • Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements – verbally or through written documentation – to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.
    • Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
    • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives that address existing and potential trouble areas in operating systems across the organization.

    SAP Experience

    • Experience in the MM (Materials Management) and PP (Production Planning) modules in SAP, preferably with ECC 6.0
    • Experience in the MM area should include, but not limited to, the following as it relates to requirements gathering and system configuration (material master, vendor master, PIRs, source lists, purchase to pay, purchase order pricing, stock transfers, subcontracting, inventory management and physical inventory)
    • Experience in the PP area should include, but not limited to, the following as it relates to requirements gathering and system configuration (production order processing for make to stock and make to order processes, variant configuration production processing, MRP and management of planned independent requirements)
    • Conceptual understanding of IDOCs and interfacing SAP with other applications
    • Conceptual understanding of reading SAP ABAP code and debugging
    • Desirable to have past experience with SAP AFS 6.5

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 8 years combined business analysis experience and SAP MM/PP support and at least two full cycle implementations or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development
    • Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products
    • Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language
    • Exceptional analytical and statistical skills with the ability to apply them to systems issues and products as required
    • Understanding of application development and software development life-cycle concepts
    • Prior experience working with vendor collaboration systems, demand/supply forecasting systems (Anaplan), master data management systems, data warehouses, etc. and their ability to integrate with SAP.
    • Proficient with Microsoft applications, especially MS Excel
    • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and creative problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
    • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
    • Highly self-motivated and directed.
    • Strong customer service orientation.
    • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
    • Periodic travel to support project work
