JOB DESCRIPTION Operations Supervisor
Reports To: Operations Manager
Summary/Objective
Direct, lead, and coordinate manufacturing employees, and related operations activities. Responsible for meeting customer demand, while maintaining quality, safety, and lowest cost. Participate in developing and leading lean initiatives to improve the value stream.
Essential Functions
The essential functions of this position include but may not be limited to those listed below. Sunny Delight Beverage retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.
1. Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Food Safety and Quality Requirements.
2. Comply with Sunny Delight Beverage’s policies and procedures.
3. Responsible for demonstrating and ensuring all employees are following company policies in regards to Safety and Quality.
4. Plan operations and methods, utilization of skills and man-hours, material and work flow to assure timely production and quality standards.
5. Maintains staff by selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities. Maintain an adequately skilled work force consistent with planning requirements and work levels.
6. Create the training plan for employees in the value stream and ensure training validations take place in a timely manner. Actively work with team and shift leader to ensure employees are reaching skill level in a timely manner.
7. Responsible for the execution of daily to annual operational plans and strategies by managing, leading and allocating resources to meet KPIs.
8. Works to understand, document, develop, and improve standard work that supports consistent manufacturing performance. Create continuous improvement plans for the value stream to improve KPIs such as yield, OEE, Cost per Case, CU.
9. Attend and lead daily production meetings and cascade necessary information to shift leaders, maintenance and operators.
10. Maintain Key process involved in daily management including centerlines, CILS, Centerlines, SCIMeetings, Standard Work, Changeover Dance Cards and etc.
11. Provides “hands-on” leadership to operations team while driving change initiatives. Maintain a good technical knowledge of operations. Responsible for trouble shooting and aiding the resolution of daily issues to ensure future production meets KPIs. Act as a first responder to Team Leaders and production team members within the production and process area. Work on shop floor as required.
12. Follow the escalation process to address and respond to abnormalities and implement corrective action as required. Preform RCAs for significant issues to drive resolution and prevent recurrence.
13. Ensure preventative maintenance for equipment are completed and that unscheduled repairs take place in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
14. Provide information as requested to Operations, Quality, Logistics & Planning, Engineering & Maintenance, and Human Resources. etc.
15. Participate in Company programs, e.g. communications, job training, job evaluation, employee appraisal, etc.
16. Maintain conformance with Company work rules and regulations, issue warnings for violations and administer approved disciplinary measures when necessary. Partner with site Human Resources leader to ensure fair and consistent administration of all policies, work rules and processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED
o High School Diploma- Some College or Bachelors of Science or Arts degree; Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field of study is a plus.
o 3 years’ experience in manufacturing operations and 3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity.
o Strong technical knowledge related to the field of manufacturing. Some PLC Experience a plus.
o Excellent communication & conflict resolution skills.
o Possess a collaborative and unyielding approach to process improvement.
o A motivated desire to use quantitative and qualitative data in making product decisions.
o Strong organizational skills.
o Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends.
o Proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong Microsoft Excel a plus
