Bereavement Services Director - Home Care jobs in New Jersey

Summit Home Care is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Therapy Services to lead and expand our newly established Therapy Department serving the 21 year-old IDD (Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities) population under the Medicaid DDD program in New Jersey. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of administrative expertise, organizational skills, and a strong understanding of therapy services to effectively manage and grow this vital department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Departmental Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Therapy Department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
• Program Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to assess needs and develop comprehensive therapy programs tailored to the unique requirements of the IDD population. Continuously evaluate and enhance services to meet evolving client needs and regulatory standards.
• Team Management: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of Speech Therapists, Physical Therapists, and Occupational Therapists. Foster a supportive and collaborative work environment conducive to professional growth and development.
• Clinical Oversight: Oversee the delivery of Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy services, ensuring adherence to best practices, evidence-based interventions, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits and quality assurance reviews to maintain high standards of care.
• Compliance and Documentation: Ensure compliance with Medicaid DDD regulations, state licensure requirements, and accreditation standards. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy services, progress notes, and billing records.
• Community Engagement: Foster positive relationships with community partners, referral sources, and advocacy groups to promote awareness of Summit Home Care's therapy services. Participate in networking events, conferences, and outreach activities to expand the agency's presence in the IDD community.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or a related field, or experience in a leadership role within a therapy agency or healthcare organization, with specific experience in the IDD population preferred.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proven ability to manage teams, implement quality improvement initiatives, and achieve operational excellence.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
