Sr Systems Engineer (Remote)

  •  Summary:  The Senior Systems Engineer will be a highly skilled and experienced professional responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Pyramid’s computer systems and networks.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Design, implement and maintain the organization's computer systems and networks, including servers, storage systems, and network infrastructure.
    • Design, configure and administer Microsoft Active Directory and Azure AD and related cloud compute environment
    • Configure and maintain ADFS / Okta / IDP tools and environment
    • Monitor and optimize the performance of computer systems and networks to ensure high availability and stability including storage/SAN environments.
    • Identify and resolve technical issues in a timely and efficient manner, including troubleshooting hardware and software problems.
    • Develop and implement disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
    • Manage and maintain the organization's security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, and security information and event management systems.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements in the field and make recommendations for upgrades and improvements.
    • Collaborate with other IT professionals and stakeholders to identify business requirements and develop technical solutions that meet those requirements.
    • Manage and mentor junior IT systems engineers, providing guidance and training as needed.
    • Participate in the planning and implementation of large-scale IT projects.

    Required Qualifications

    Education, Licensure, & Experience

    • Bachelor of Science/Arts degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field or comparable work experience.
    • Minimum 5-7 years of experience with advanced systems engineering

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability with 3rd party cloud security and identity solutions including Okta.
    • Experience with Microsoft Cloud Platform Security - users, groups and roles
    • Virtualization computing environments including HyperV and VMWare
    • Interest in learning and taking on increasingly complex tasks
    • Knowledge of application deployment process is a plus including PowerShell and modern deployment tools
    • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 environment
    • Cisco Meraki Knowledge is a plus
    • UCaaS knowledge is a plus

    Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required at moderate levels to walk, stoop, twist, kneel, or crouch. The employee must lift and/ or move up to 20 pounds.
