Overview: Western Digital seeks a well-rounded Benefits Specialist to play a pivotal role in the administration and enhancement of our benefits programs that make an enduring impact on the health and wellness of our valued workforce. The Benefits Specialist will report to the Director, Americas Benefits.
· Lead the leave of absence administration and manage the relationship with the external leave of absence vendor.
· Manage the Benefits e-mail in-box.
· Administer our employee benefits, including medical, dental, vision, FSA, HSA, life, disability and EAP.
· Assist with the COBRA administration process.
· Process Workday transitions, maintaining accurate and up-to-date benefits enrollment data.
· Assist with the planning, implementation and execution of our annual Open Enrollment events.
· Conduct Open Enrollment auditing, reporting, reconciliation, and corrections.
· Assist with administration of the 401K.
· Assist with the creation, review and update our Standard Operating Procedures for benefits processes.
· Process Payroll wire and invoice payment requests, as necessary.
· Work with IT to implement or change plans and processes in Workday.
· Update and maintain SharePoint employee information sites.
· Process life insurance EOI approval and denials.
· Support Americas Benefits sites, as applicable.
· Conduct required payroll/benefit audits.
· Provide ad-hoc reports per various HR/Payroll/Finance requests.
· Prepare and process vendor files.
· Assist with the ACA 1095-C process and audits.
· Provide feedback/clarity/assistance on various benefit projects and implementations.
· Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
· Minimum 3-5 years of direct experience as a Benefits Administrator or similar, working specifically with benefit laws and regulations including HIPAA, ACA, FMLA, and COBRA, with demonstrated knowledge of benefits terminology and administrative processes.
· BS/BA Degree required. Relevant coursework or certification in Human Resources preferred.
Required skills:
· Experience specifically overseeing benefits administration.
· Experience using HRIS Systems, preferably Workday.
· Experience with Microsoft Suite including Excel and Powerpoint
· Working knowledge of Human Resources concepts, practices, policies, and procedures.
