Summary
The Supervisor - Benefits position is responsible for overseeing Benefits and Worker's Compensation Administration. This role will partner with a variety of stakeholders to design, develop, communicate and administer the company's health, welfare and retirement benefits plans. This role will also be responsible for ensuring that injuries are reported and documented promptly. The incumbent will continue to evaluate our current program to find opportunities for cost savings and to remain or be more competitive.
Responsibilities
- Primary
- Designs, develops, and administers the company's benefit plans and programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), and any other ancillary benefits
- Reviews and analyzes the benefits market to determine trends, regulations and practices, and develops competitive programs and offerings for our workforce
- Leads annual open enrollment activities across all sites
- Manage day to day benefits activities and communications
- Manage worker's compensation and LOA programs
- Ensures jurisdictional compliance of all benefits programs
- Maintain close relationship with benefits broker to be engaged with negotiations of plan coverage, services, and costs with carriers
- Provides guidance on benefits policies to employees and answers employee benefit questions
- Manages one direct report - provides guidance, direction and support
- Conducts regular benefit audits to ensure HRIS system has accurate information

- Reviews and responds to employee leave of absence requests ensuring the appropriate documentation has been submitted and is in compliance with the organization's leave of absence policy
- Maintain and track leave of absence documentation and update HRIS system with leave status
- Provides guidance and support to employees throughout the leave of absence process
- Collaborates and assists organizational development team with planning and organizing wellness events
- Maintains employee files and ensures all paperwork is completed
- Complete Benefits and Worker's compensation compliance reporting
- Oversee benefits and worker's compensation invoice reconciliation and processing

- Partners with General Affairs team to acquire state mandated posters
- Updates posters to include up-to-date workers compensation contacts
- Supports reconciliation and submission of invoices for all benefits plans to Accounting for payment in a timely manner
Compensation
$74,000 - $84,000 per year (Subject to Compensation Study Upon Candidate Selection)

Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience administering and navigation benefits for a midsize company
- Demonstrated knowledge of all pertinent federal, state and local regulations and filing and compliance requirements affecting employee benefits programs, including but not limited to ACA, HIPAA, ERISA, and COBRA
- Intermediate-level of MS Excel
- Experience with MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint
- Problem-solving and critical thinking
- Self-starter that can operate under minimal supervision
- Project management and attention to detail
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Required
- 5 - 8Years of Direct Experience inWorkers Compensation, Benefits Administration, ADA/FMLA Required
- 6 - 9 Years of Direct ExperienceWorkers Compensation, Benefits Administration, ADA/FMLA, OSHA, Safety Preferred
- 1 - 3 Years of Supervisory Experience Preferred
