    The UCPath Center is the University of California's shared services center in Riverside, CA. The UCPath Center manages the payroll, benefits, and other human resources transactions for more than 200,000 UC employees working across ten UC campuses, five medical centers, three national labs and more.     POSITION SUMMARY

    The Benefits System Supervisor will work within the UCPath Center, reporting directly to a Production Benefits Administration Manager. The Benefits System Supervisor uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and system wide policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of business processing challenges. The analyst demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

    The Benefits System Supervisor will work closely with other members of the UCPath Center, COE and Locations to identify business requirements to effectively manage the testing of benefits requirements, system enhancements, and monthly eligibility and compliance processing. The Benefits System Supervisor applies skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industrywide business process and analysis practices and organizational policies and procedures in additional to state and federal regulations.

    Identifies and resolves a wide range of business process issues of moderate to complex scope. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions. Applies advanced business process and analysis concepts and organizational objectives to implement long term roadmap initiatives for highly complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

    TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT

    Applies advanced business analysis concepts to identify, evaluate and define highly complex UCPath systems scope and objectives based on advanced knowledge of applicable business practices, processes and systems and industry standards to meet end-user needs. Works at the highest technical level of various phases of systems analysis. Considers the business implications of applying technology to the current and future business environment.

    PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

    Supervisor to experienced Business Systems Analysts and may lead a team of business analyst professionals. Determination of performance, salary actions, hiring decisions and other human resources-related issues. Responsibility of timely sharing of knowledge and updates to the team. Responsible for creating a work environment that is inclusive.

    TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT

    Initiates, designs or modifies highly complex systems and procedures where standardized policies or procedures may or may not exist in coordination with our COE Partners. Creates highly technical specifications for systems with broad impact at a campus / medical center / OP or within a large organization. Develops unit integration and acceptance testing plans and scenarios. May lead cross-functional teams to address complex business or systems issues. Performs highly complex analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements and translation into proper system and process requirement specifications. Provides advanced support and training on new applications.

    TECHNICAL/FUNCTIONAL MANAGEMENT

    Initiates, facilitates, implements and documents work process changes. Prepares and approves or obtains approval for business process and procedural documentation. Initiates and oversees changes in processes and procedures. Sets the technical requirements for complex specifications.


    Required Qualifications
    • Advanced knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
    • Advanced knowledge of related areas of HRIS systems.
    • Knowledge relating to the design of processes and software across the organization.
    • Advanced skills and methodologies associated with process and software design, modification and implementation.
    • Demonstrated skills needed to develop process and system implementation plans and demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
    • Understanding and skill in complex process and systems requirement documentation standards, such as Use Case modeling, User Story creations and narrative description.
    • Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Demonstrates problem solving skills.
    • Advanced knowledge of UC personnel and benefits/payroll policies and procedures. Experience and proficient in the PeopleSoft HCM 9.2.
    • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Interpersonal and communications skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.

    Education
    • 8 years of related experience and/or Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training, Extensive knowledge of PeopleSoft Human Resources/ Workforce Administration, Benefit Administration, General Ledger or Payroll Administration Modules.

    SALARY AND BENEFITS

    Salary: The recommended salary range is $113,000 - $138,000. Commensurate with experience.

    Payroll Title: Bus Sys Anl 4 Job Grade: 24
