Benefits Manager develops, implements, administers, and maintains benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures programs are equitable, meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost effective. Being a Benefits Manager develops benefits communications and counsels employees on benefits related issues. Evaluates existing benefits programs against peer organizations to determine competitiveness, trends and developments. Additionally, Benefits Manager requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). Typically reports to director. The Benefits Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Essential Functions
1. Leads benefits administration for the organization.
2. Handles all leave of absences for the organization.
3. Answer employee questions concerning benefits.
4. Manage annual Open Enrollment activities including creating communication materials and managing the program.
5. Ensures that all plans are administered consistently, efficiently and in accordance with the plan documents and all applicable laws and regulations.
6. Reviews external trends in plan design and administration; work with the strategy team to provide recommendations to improve cost-effectiveness and competitiveness of the Company's benefits offerings.
7. Handles all reporting and billing as it relates to company benefits.
8. Other duties as needed
