As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the company and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This is a key leadership role that requires strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to provide strategic financial guidance to the Executive Director.
Duties:
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting and eligibility departments
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts
- Conduct regular account analysis and reconciliations
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Process payroll, FSA and &01k administration
- Monitor cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making
- Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in financial management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation is preferred
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or similar role
- Strong knowledge of PayChex and/or other accounting software
- In-depth understanding of technical accounting principles and practices
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Solid understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
- Experience in corporate accounting, general ledger accounting, and account analysis
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
