EyeSouth’s affiliate network consists of 30 practices with over 260 doctors providing medical and surgical eye care services at approximately 150 locations including 19 surgery centers throughout Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Texas, Alabama, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Illinois.
Position Summary
Manages all administrative functions related to employee benefit plans and programs, such as eligibility, communication and education, enrollment systems and processes, regulatory compliance, and reporting requirements. Documents and maintains administrative procedures for benefits processes, plans and organizes activities, and carries out a variety of administrative and program management tasks.
Responsibilities
- Serves as the main point of contact for employees, managers, physicians, and HR/payroll staff on all benefit-related inquiries, requests, requirements/provisions of benefit programs, and basic leave administration.
- Responsible for customer service of benefits - oversees and monitors calls, the benefits inbox, resolves issues, and works directly with managers to ensure reasonable timeframes for issues resolution.
- Oversees other benefit operational tasks such as enrollments, qualifying life events (QLEs), ACA enrollees, status changes, QMCSOs, COBRA, and annual open enrollment regarding processes, communications, and other various activities associated with benefit programs and the 401k plan.
- Attends the New Hire Virtual Orientation sessions to answer questions and help with enrollment.
- Monitors plan limits, eligibility, and other restrictions on plan participation to ensure compliance with both plan provisions and government requirements.
- Assures processes and procedures are in place to capture and maintain consistent and accurate benefit-related activities and records.
- In conjunction with the Total Rewards Manager, creates and distributes a variety of educational materials to inform and educate management and employees regarding changes to benefit plans, corporate perks and other benefits-related programs, administrative practices, and legislative requirements.
- Contributes to the team effort by completing other tasks/projects as needed.
- Cross-trains as needed within the HR department for professional development, coverage assistance, and education as situations arise.
Qualifications
- Bachelor/Associate degree in business, human resources, or related field.
- Demonstrated understanding of employer group benefits.
- Knowledge of ERISA, HIPAA, Cafeteria 125, PPACA, COBRA, and applicable state and federal laws.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external, verbal and written.
- Ability to maintain confidential information.
- Experience with multi-state benefits administration in a 2,000 employee environment, a plus.
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office; especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, etc.).
- Prior experience within a large HRIS environment preferred (UKG/Ulti-Pro, Ceridian, Workday, etc.) UltiPro/UKG strongly preferred.
- Exercises sound judgment in responding to inquiries; understands when to route inquiries to the next level.
- Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and superior attention to detail.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously within inflexible time frames. Ability to adapt to frequent priority changes.
- Team player who develops strong collaborative working relationships with internal partners and can effectively engage and build consensus among cross-functional teams.
