Responsible for the administration and analysis of assigned employee benefit programs while providing direction and training to employees on benefit options and selections. Maintains active relationships with ancillary and wellness providers, processes multiple supplier invoices and reconciliations, enrollment activities, eligibility tracking, and timely submission of transactional items based on defined timelines. Benefit programs include, but are not limited to - disability plans, retirement plans, unemployment claims, flexible spending accounts (FSAs), Medicare eligibility, company-paid and voluntary benefits (life, disability, student loan repayments, supplemental benefits, etc.); profit sharing and safe harbor 401(k) plan administration and reporting; Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) and Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) entitlements.
• Conducts analysis and usage evaluations of benefit programs.• Responds to employee inquiries regarding benefit options, benefit entitlements, plan design, co-payments, deductibles, and dependent coverages.• Tracks benefit eligibility dates and notifies employees of entitlement eligibility.• Conducts benefit orientation meetings with individuals and groups as needed to introduce plan modifications and regulatory changes affecting participants.• Reconciles health and dental claims issues on behalf of employees as appropriate and/or directs the employee through use of the customer service number or the on-line consumer driven health portal.• Maintains a current working knowledge of benefit legislation, industry standards and best practices. Stays informed on most recent changes in healthcare reform and modifies processes and plan designs to ensure compliance.• Prepares, administers and maintains records, files and reporting information for various programs in accordance with benefit plan processes, procedures and regulatory requirements.• Provides guidance and assistance to employees relative to the policies, practices, and procedures affecting their benefit eligibility and entitlements.• Maintains and updates the employee Benefits Summaries and information for a variety of benefit plans (medical, dental, ancillary, flexible spending, PTO, retirement plans, etc.).• Maintains and updates the employee benefit website to ensure that changes are communicated timely; and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) notices are posted in accordance with published specifications. May be required to send company-wide communication notices via e-mail or through the employee portal.• Performs as liaison between employment benefit vendors and employees to ensure adherence to plan provisions and to resolve issues or to reconcile claims.• Administers, maintains and coordinates on-line insurance plans, eligibility and premium payments transmissions; interacting with IT designates, vendors and employees.• Performs various reporting activities and report analysis - recommends a plan of action based on findings.• Responds to unemployment claims and assists in protest hearings for ineligible claimants.• Develops and maintains the Benefits Administrators Procedural Manual and all standard operating procedures (SOPs) for assigned and specific benefit programs.• Reviews, determines eligibility and conducts employee enrollment meetings for profit share and 401(k), health, dental, and other ancillary benefits.• Exercises decision-making and analysis of various conditions and circumstances affecting eligibility, continuation of benefits, and tracking of leave and premium payments for employees meeting FMLA eligibility requirements.• Manages the on-boarding and exit process requirements for enrolling and inactivating employees from the benefits database. • Ensures timely action of benefit transactions to limit liability, risk, and financial obligations of the company. This includes collection of late payments, employee premium deficiencies, etc.• Performs qualify control of invoice billings against HRIS information data.
