The position of Bench Technician includes setup, programming, troubleshooting, and repair of communication equipment including pagers, portable and mobile electronic equipment. This requires superior technical, troubleshooting, and repair skills.
Primary Responsibilities:
Setup, programming, and checkout of equipment
Troubleshooting and repair to the component level
Final checkout and training with customer
Service of electronic equipment in vehicles, including squads
Electronic equipment preventive maintenance, alignment and clean up
Maintain all appropriate and necessary paperwork and documentation
Miscellaneous duties as assigned
Minimum qualifications:
Superior technical, troubleshooting, and problem resolution skills
Ability to use various test equipment including system analyzer
Associate degree in Electronics or an associated field
Ability to effectively communicate with customers and fellow employees
Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and move freely in the performance of the job
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Good computer skills
Valid driver’s license
Attendance is critical to this position
Successful completion of background checks
