BENCH REPAIR TECHNICIAN

Position Summary:

GAP-CO is in need of an experienced in-house Bench Repair Technician to support our strapping and wrapping systems. The repair technician position troubleshoots and repairs a variety of wrapping and strapping hand-tools, systems, and machines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and troubleshoot customer's tools and machines utilizing systematic thinking
• Assist with the development of repair manuals and training programs.
• Ability to provide support to internal/external customers, as it relates to repairs and training.
• Ability to accurately document repairs and work completed.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment supported by GAP-CO.
• Generate service reports that explain work and parts provided along wtih clear understanding of the issue, solution, and any follow-up needed.

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Advanced understanding of machines and their systems to include (but not limited to) pneumatic, hydraulic, bearings, levers, channels, pulleys, cams, and camshafts.
• Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records.
• PLC experience helpful
• Ability to operate a forklift a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and move at least 45 pounds.

Working Conditions:

• Primarily seated, visual acuity to inspect small components and detailed repairs, manual dexterity to work with and on small tools and component parts.

Minimum Education:

• High School Diploma
• Soldering a plus
• Associates Degree a plus

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

• Minimum 3 years of hardware repair experience
• Minimum 3 years of field or plant equipment maintenance experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
