BELLPERSON

Position Summary:

Welcomes and greets arriving and departing guests as well as handle guest inquiries and special requests.

Essential Functions:

1. Escorts incoming hotel guests to rooms. Assist with luggage according to hotel and/or brand standards.
2. Offer information pertaining to available services and facilities at the hotel as well as local points of interest and entertainment attractions. Help guests make reservations to social and recreational events or for travel.
3. Supply guests with travel information such as transportation rates, routes, schedules and driving directions. Calls taxi for guests.
4. Transfers luggage and packages to guestrooms, loading area, or meeting rooms with use of handtruck.
5. Deliver messages and run errands.
6. Assist arriving and departing guests with valet parking.
7. Responsible for handling of guest laundry.
8. Maintain cleanliness of storage areas and luggage areas.
9. Maintain lobby appearance by removing newspapers, rearranging furniture, etc.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and employees may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work.
2. Employees are required to adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the hotel, including, but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.

Skills and Abilities:

- Excellent people skills needed in order to meet/exceed customer expectations.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to lift moderate to heavy weights.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Good communication skills.
- Must have a valid driver’s license to drive automatic and standard transmission vehicles.
