Behavioral Home Care Aide jobs in West Virginia
Behavioral Home Care Aide provides household management activities and care for patients suffering from mental illness and developmental disabilities. Assists patient with medications and activities of daily living skills, including personal hygiene. Being a Behavioral Home Care Aide establishes a therapeutic relationship with patient and implements treatment plans under the supervision of a professional clinician. May be required to document progress in accordance with established procedures. Additionally, Behavioral Home Care Aide may require previous experience working with patients suffering with behavioral health disorders. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Behavioral Home Care Aide 's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist patients with daily activities such as moving in and out of beds, baths, wheelchairs, or automobiles
- Care for patients by changing bed linens, doing laundry, cleaning the home, or assisting with personal care
- Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress, or problems to report and discuss observations with supervisor
- Build relationships with patients by conversing or reading aloud to help keep them mentally healthy and alert
- Give medication reminders
- Engage patients in exercises or other activities
- Graduated from an accredited Home Health Aide program
- High School Diploma or GED
- One-year prior professional experience
- Driver’s license required
- CPR certification preferred
