Behavioral Home Care Aide provides household management activities and care for patients suffering from mental illness and developmental disabilities. Assists patient with medications and activities of daily living skills, including personal hygiene. Being a Behavioral Home Care Aide establishes a therapeutic relationship with patient and implements treatment plans under the supervision of a professional clinician. May be required to document progress in accordance with established procedures. Additionally, Behavioral Home Care Aide may require previous experience working with patients suffering with behavioral health disorders. Requires a high school diploma. We are looking for a Home Health Aid to join our team! You will directly work with veterans, following a one-on-one care plan in Veterans homes. You operate with a big heart, not only providing personalized and attentive care, but by building genuine relationships with those you serve.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, detail-orientation, and a commitment to providing a healthy, positive environment are needed to succeed in this role. Prior Home Health, Nursing Home or Hospice experience is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Build relationships with Veterans by conversing or reading aloud to help keep them mentally healthy and alert
- Maintain records of patient care after each visit using Google Drive. This will include tasks completed during your visit, progress made, and any other items of significance
- Reporting any concerns immediately to supervisor
- Travel up to 40 minutes from your home
- Veterans will have different requirements, these may include:
- Assistance with daily activities such as moving in and out of bed, bath, wheelchairs, or automobiles
- Assistance with making meals, changing bed linens, laundry, cleaning the home or personal care
- Engagement in exercises or other activities
Qualifications:
- Positive, caring and patient demeanor
- Negative TB Test
- High School Diploma or GED
- Smart phone
- Driver’s license - required *Car insurance
- CPR certification - required
- One-year prior experience - preferred
**Mileage reimbursement available after 90 day probationary period**

Pay: $16.50 - $18.50 per hour
