Position Overview:
The Behavioral Health Regional Director is responsible in assisting with the supervision and monitoring of the Practice Managers in the behavioral health operations sites. The Behavioral Health Regional Director will be responsible for the behavioral health operational activities of the Network in an effort to maximize growth and stability, as well as providing administrative duties to Network.
Essential Duties:
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the areas of assigned behavioral health sites and programs.
- Hold weekly meetings with all practice managers together.
- Assist with monthly practice management meetings and trainings.
- Perform a practice assessment annually for each site.
- Committee involvement as required in performing duties of position.
- Assess sites in areas related to reimbursement, with the intent to maximize reimbursement for services rendered and ensures timely collection. Report any delays immediately to supervisor, and develop action plans for improvement.
- Assist in implementation of new programs/services at assigned sites.
- Behavioral Health policy development, also the research and implementation of behavioral health models of care.
- Review programs and processes of sites and department for efficiency and value to include assessing and improving revenues and expenses.
- Review statistics on the site, provider and Network with the providers, executive management staff and Practice Manager, with plans for improvement.
- Assess revenues and expenses of the assigned sites and look for ways to increase revenues and reduce costs while assisting in the budget process.
- Oversee behavioral health sites in region and Practice Managers to ensure compliance in all areas, including quality, Joint Commission, billing, FOA, clinical, etc.
- Review programs and processes of assigned sites for efficiency and value.
- Work closely with supervisor on oversight of the department, its operations and its relationship with other departments in the Network.
- Perform and/or assist with disciplinary action plan.
- Must be able to delegate appropriate duties to Practice Managers.
Management Duties
- Behavioral Health Regional Director will need to supervise the Practice Managers by doing the following:
- Provide supervision and monitoring of the performance of the Practice Managers.
- Assist the Practice Managers with monitoring revenues and expenses of sites and programs within the department.
- Responsible for Practice Managers at assigned sites from time and attendance, key logs, training, work flow issues, evaluations and HR issues.
- Assist the Practice Managers on a one to one basis and complete competency and training as needed.
- Ensure that the Practice Managers are training their respective staffs appropriately.
- Review the Network’s Policy and procedure with Practice Manager on regular basis.
- Assist the Practice Managers in providing in services and educational programs as deemed appropriate by department management.
- Assist the Practice Managers with monitoring revenues and expenses of sites and programs within the department.
- Ensure that Practice Managers are conducting medical record reviews and updates.
- Assist and attend site reviews and involve the Practice Manager.
- Assist Practice Managers with issues involving providers as needed.
- Help the Practice Managers keep the providers in compliance with EMR and paper records as well as holding the providers accountable.
- Assist the Practice Manager with the opening of a new Network site.
Other Duties:
- Assist with TJC activities.
- Assist with PI activities
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Four (4) year degree in healthcare or business related field is preferred.
- A degree in the behavioral health field also preferred but not required.
- Minimum of two (2) years experience in the behavioral health field is required.
- Previous experience in a community health center is preferred.
- Must be proficient in computer skills.
