Behavioral Health Director oversees the study and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Develops, implements, and updates strategic initiatives, programs, and services. Being a Behavioral Health Director manages and directs the operations of behavioral health services. Uses knowledge of behavioral health research and trends to ensure the department's practices are up-to-date and effective. Additionally, Behavioral Health Director establishes training programs and supports and supervises staff. Ensures all behavioral health operations comply with clinical guidelines and regulations. Requires an advanced degree in psychology or related field. Typically reports to top management. The Behavioral Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Behavioral Health Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. Behavioral Health Care Manager

  • POSITION SUMMARY:   Functions as a core member of an integrated behavioral health team that may involve the patient’s primary care provider in a clinic and/or school-based setting while adhering to all applicable state and federal confidentiality requirements. Works under the direction of licensed behavioral health and/or medical providers, is responsible for coordinating referrals, and supporting behavioral health services as outlined in the patient’s treatment plan. One Health has adopted the SAMHSA definition of the term behavioral health as “the promotion of mental health, resilience and well-being; the treatment of mental and substance use disorders; and the support of those who experience and/or are in recovery from these conditions, along with their families and communities.”

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Supports and coordinates behavioral health services with the patient’s integrated care team.
    2. Assists the integrated care team in collecting information, documentation and/or screeners to be used to determine the patient’s behavioral health needs.
    3. Engages with patients during warm hand-offs to offer support, education about integrated care, resources, and behavioral health intake processes. Assists with scheduling for initial and follow-up visits.
    4. Assists patients to access services using approved multi-media platforms.
    5. Facilitates patient engagement and follow-up care.
    6. Tracks patient follow-up and clinical outcomes.
    7. Documents encounters in the EHR per One Health Policy, Procedures, and Guidelines.
    8. Facilitates referrals for clinically indicated services specified on the patient’s treatment plan.
    9. Participates in all meetings as determined by supervisor.
    10. Participates in training, reporting, and other requirements of various contracts and grant supported programs implemented by One Healt
    11. Adheres to all One Health Policies and Procedures.
    12. Participates in performance optimization and risk management activities as required.
    13. Cooperates and abides by all elements of One Health’s Compliance Program.
    14. Exemplifies a patient-centered care approach to each patient along each stage of the patient journey, while working as a key patient centered team member by communicating individual patient care needs to support the needs of patients served.
    15. Provides exceptional customer service and models the mission of One Health when interacting with internal and external stakeholders promoting a positive image for the health center.
    16. Performs other duties as assigned or required with or without prior notification.

     

    MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    Education/Certificates/Licenses:

    Required

    ▪   BLS Certification upon hire

    ▪   High school diploma or equivalent

    ▪   Valid driver’s license

                      

    Preferred

    • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a related field, mental health aide, behavioral health aide, medical assistant, licensed practical nurse, or nursing assistant

     

    Experience:

    Required

    • Experience in a medical clinic or mental health setting; or
    • Any combination of experience and training which provides the equivalent scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work; including the ability to communicate effectively with others, and work under the direction of a licensed behavioral health and/or medical provider

     

    Preferred

    • Screening for common behavioral health conditions
    • Knowledge of assessment and treatment planning
