Behavioral Health Director oversees the study and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Develops, implements, and updates strategic initiatives, programs, and services. Being a Behavioral Health Director manages and directs the operations of behavioral health services. Uses knowledge of behavioral health research and trends to ensure the department's practices are up-to-date and effective. Additionally, Behavioral Health Director establishes training programs and supports and supervises staff. Ensures all behavioral health operations comply with clinical guidelines and regulations. Requires an advanced degree in psychology or related field. Typically reports to top management. The Behavioral Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Behavioral Health Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling Psychology or Other Related Mental Health discipline.
    • Unrestricted, current license in the state of practice - LCSW, LMFT, LPC, LMHC, or Psychologist. Must maintain all licensures, certifications, continuing educational requirements, etc.
    • Counseling experience in a correctional setting preferred.
    • BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.

     

    A background check, security clearance and drug screening are required for this role.

    Responsibilities

    Location: Bibb, Brent, AL 

    Salary:  $35.50 to $43.80 

    Below is a list of your responsibilities as a Licensed Behavioral Health Professional with YesCare:

    • Performs individual and group therapeutic interven­tions as appropriate.
    • Conducts psychosocial assessments and mental health intake evaluations as indicated.
    • Performs risk assessment and intervention,
    • Provides behavioral health consultation to members of the multi-disciplinary clinical team and to correctional personnel as directed.
    • Performs crisis intervention and de-escalation as indicated.
    • Supports and/or direct care coordination efforts for patients returning to the community requiring ongoing behavioral health services.
    • Initiates, completes, and maintains patient treatment plans.
    • Participate in team meetings.
    • Assists in planning and implementing the goals and objectives of programs and projects. May direct special projects as requested.
    • Participates in and conducts in-service training programs, as well as assists in the orientation of new staff.
    • Provides the necessary preparation of documentation, necessary records and reports.
    • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
    • Other duties as assigned by management.
