Behavioral Health Director oversees the study and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Develops, implements, and updates strategic initiatives, programs, and services. Being a Behavioral Health Director manages and directs the operations of behavioral health services. Uses knowledge of behavioral health research and trends to ensure the department's practices are up-to-date and effective. Additionally, Behavioral Health Director establishes training programs and supports and supervises staff. Ensures all behavioral health operations comply with clinical guidelines and regulations. Requires an advanced degree in psychology or related field. Typically reports to top management. The Behavioral Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure.     Embark Behavioral Health is seeking an accomplished Residential Executive Director with a proven track record of revitalizing organizational culture within residential treatment homes to foster a positive and empowering environment.

     

    As the Residential Executive Director of Embark, you will play a pivotal role in leading and transforming our residential treatment center dedicated to providing comprehensive care for children and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and other mental health issues. This is a challenging yet rewarding turnaround situation where your strategic vision, leadership acumen, and passion for mental health will drive positive change.

    Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership:

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive turnaround strategy for the residential treatment center, aligning with the organization's mission and values.
    • Foster a culture of excellence, compassion, and innovation within the staff and therapeutic programs.

    Program Oversight:

    • Oversees the daily operations of the Residential Program
    • Collaborate with clinical teams to develop evidence-based treatment programs tailored to enhance program effectiveness and client outcomes

    Financial Management:

      • Develop and manage the clinic's budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and optimal resource allocation.
    • Implement cost-effective measures without compromising the quality of care.

    Community Engagement:

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders, including local authorities, schools, healthcare providers, and mental health organizations.

     

    Staff Development and Team Building:

    • Recruit, train, and retain qualified and compassionate staff members.
    • Foster a collaborative and empowering work environment that prioritizes professional growth and development.

    Quality Assurance:

    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of treatment programs and improve clinical outcomes.

    Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and joint commission accreditation standards governing residential treatment centers for mental health

    Risk Management:

    • Collaborate with Embark’s support office to develop and implement risk management protocols to address potential challenges and ensure the safety and well-being of residents and employees

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences, Psychology, Social Work, or Healthcare Administration is required
    • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Healthcare Administration) is preferred
    • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in the mental health field or healthcare field
    • Proven track record of revitalizing organizational culture within residential treatment or mental health setting
    • Strong understanding of the CA state regulations and Joint Commission regulations
    • Exceptional leadership skills
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills.
