Behavioral Health Director oversees the study and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Develops, implements, and updates strategic initiatives, programs, and services. Being a Behavioral Health Director manages and directs the operations of behavioral health services. Uses knowledge of behavioral health research and trends to ensure the department's practices are up-to-date and effective. Additionally, Behavioral Health Director establishes training programs and supports and supervises staff. Ensures all behavioral health operations comply with clinical guidelines and regulations. Requires an advanced degree in psychology or related field. Typically reports to top management. The Behavioral Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. The Mission Neighborhood Health Center is a non-profit, multi-site community health organization offering comprehensive health services in the Mission and Excelsior Districts of San Francisco. We are currently looking for qualified candidates for our Behavioral Health Director role. Please note: this role requires an applicant to be bilingual (English/Spanish). This position reports to the CEO and Medical Director and is a Regular, Full Time, Exempt role with a starting yearly salary range of $130,000 to $150,000 with full benefits.
Primary Objective:
Under the general direction of the CEO and Medical Director, the Behavioral Health Director administers the mental health and substance abuse services and programs provided at all Mission Neighborhood Health Center sites. The individual in this position provides program leadership to ensure effective integration of the center’s primary care and behavioral health services and serves as a clinician on the behavioral health team.
