Behavioral Health Director oversees the study and treatment of patients with emotional, mental, or psychological disorders. Develops, implements, and updates strategic initiatives, programs, and services. Being a Behavioral Health Director manages and directs the operations of behavioral health services. Uses knowledge of behavioral health research and trends to ensure the department's practices are up-to-date and effective. Additionally, Behavioral Health Director establishes training programs and supports and supervises staff. Ensures all behavioral health operations comply with clinical guidelines and regulations. Requires an advanced degree in psychology or related field. Typically reports to top management. The Behavioral Health Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Behavioral Health Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     At New Haven, we're not just a residential treatment center; we're a dedicated haven for adolescent girls aged 14 to 18 and their families. Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Spanish Fork and Saratoga Springs in Utah, our campuses provide more than just treatment – they offer a warm, homely atmosphere seamlessly blending residential care with cutting-edge academics.

     

    Our forte lies in tackling intricate challenges such as traumatic stress, family dynamics, relationship hurdles, mental health nuances, and much more – all while maintaining an unwavering focus on family-centered healing.     Schedule

    Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

    Week long, After Hours, On Call Rotation every 5- 7 weeks

    Responsibilities

    • Leadership and Management: Directs and manages the mentors and supervisors in her/his house, recognizing and rewarding exceptional work.
    • Delegation of Responsibilities: Delegates responsibilities to shift members and supervisors as appropriate.
    • Collaborative Hiring Process: Collaborates with the HR Recruiter in the hiring process, making final hiring decisions.
    • On-Shift Orientation and Training: Provides on-shift orientation for new hires, utilizing the provided checklist, and offers ongoing training for new supervisors.
    • Continuous Training and Evaluation: Conducts regular training sessions for shift members and supervisors, both informally and in formal weekly shift training meetings. Performs ongoing evaluations of shift members and conducts formal quarterly evaluations.
    • Discipline and Conflict Resolution: Takes responsibility for disciplining shift staff when necessary, utilizing various formal methods such as verbal warnings, write-ups, probation, suspension, and termination.
    • Interdisciplinary Treatment Team: Actively participates in weekly treatment team meetings representing the Residential Team, contributing to the overall therapeutic approach.
    • Implementation of Treatment Team Decisions: Implements treatment team decisions regarding interventions and therapeutic direction.
    • Safety Drill Implementation: Ensures the implementation of safety drills on a quarterly basis and provides instructions to other supervisors for the same.
    • Budget Management: Effectively manages the residential budget for her/his house, overseeing financial aspects.
    • House Cleanliness and Parent Communication: Maintains the cleanliness of the house and communicates regularly with parents about the student's progress, needs, and family expectations.

    Qualifications

    • 2 years of prior residential treatment center experience is preferable; we need you to be familiar with the treatment center environment in order to manage it appropriately
    • A Bachelor's degree in a related field of study is preferred, but not required
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 21 years old or older
    • Current driver's license and a good driving record
    • Ability to pass a Utah State background check
