We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Human Resources to join our team at Portage Path Behavioral Health, a non-profit Behavioral Health organization in Summit County. As the Director of Human Resources, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources management, including employee evaluation, benefits administration, employment labor law compliance, and human capital management. This is a critical leadership role that requires strong strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to effectively manage a team.
Duties:
- Develop and implement human resources policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment labor laws and regulations
- Oversee the recruitment and hiring process, including conducting interviews and making hiring decisions
- Manage employee orientation and onboarding programs to ensure a smooth transition for new hires
- Implement performance evaluation systems to assess employee performance and provide feedback for improvement
- Oversee benefits administration, including managing employee enrollment, coordinating with insurance providers, and resolving any issues or concerns
- Collaborate with department directors and managers to develop training programs that enhance employee skills and knowledge
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding employee conduct and disciplinary actions
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in human resources management
Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, a law degree with special interest in human resources, or comparable degrees, required
- SHRM certification, or equivalent, required
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in personnel supervision or related field, or comparable experience, required
- Strong knowledge of human resources management principles and practices
- Strong knowledge of staff training and personnel administration
- Proficiency in HR software systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with employees at all levels of the organization
- Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and service providers to secure favorable terms for the company
- Strong understanding of employment labor laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all HR activities
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
