Behavior Analyst conducts psychological/behavioral assessments for assigned patients. Designs, implements and evaluates behavior intervention plans. Being a Behavior Analyst provides ongoing training to clinical staff in the implementation and management of behavior programs. Requires a master's degree in behavioral analysis or related field. Additionally, Behavior Analyst may require certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Behavior Analyst work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Duties:
- Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
- Provide direct one-on-one therapy to individuals with developmental disabilities, specifically autism
- Collect and record data on client progress and behavior
- Assist with the assessment and evaluation of client needs
- Collaborate with the BCBA and other team members to develop and modify treatment plans
- Support clients in developing social, communication, and daily living skills
- Implement positive behavior support strategies
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment for clients
Skills:
- Experience working with children or individuals with special needs, preferably in a special education or behavioral therapy setting
- Knowledge of behavioral therapy techniques and principles
- Ability to collect and analyze data accurately
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with clients
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Note: Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for candidates who do not have RBT certification.
