Banquet Manager jobs in South Dakota

We are looking for someone to supervise the day-to-day operations of our banquet services in order to ensure the smooth implementation of any given event. This includes managing catering services, organizing staff schedules and overseeing events. The ideal candidate for this role will have an eye for detail and prior experience in a similar position. Be great at time management, give clear and effective direction, organize, customer service oriented and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Act as the main point of contact for all banquet events at the hotel.
• Interview, select, schedule, train, coach, counsel and evaluate the performance of the Banquet Team
• Supervise and assist with the setup of function rooms according to event order specifications
• Visually inspect function room and equipment prior to functions for cleanliness and accurate setup
• Review, maintain and stay up to date with upcoming events, communicating regulary with Catering Sales, share contacts, Banquet Event Order, and kitchen details with Catering team to ensure they have all mecssary information to guarantee a successful event.
• Ensure that all banquet staff is properly trained to serve customer needs and requests.
• Assist banquet staff to resolve any customer issues.
• Train staff on proper food storage and handling techniques.
• Attend staff and management meetings as needed
• Coordinate with other departments (e.g. kitchen, maintenance, sales) to ensure the success of a banquet event.
• Ability to work any day/shift, evenings, weekends and holidays. Ability to work on-call as needed.
• Able to work 8 hour shifts as business dictated, the ability to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time. Maintain a neat, clean and well - groomed appearance.
• Three plus years of demonstrated Banquet experience, preferably in a large-scale Catering environment.
• One to three years of supervision experience prefered

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
