Banquet Manager plans, directs and coordinates banquets held within the establishment. Negotiates contracts, assists in the selection of menu items, schedules banquet staff, arranges for facilities or equipment, and communicates customer needs to the appropriate personnel. Being a Banquet Manager develops and maintains banquet accounts by ensuring customer satisfaction before, during, and after the event. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Banquet Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Banquet Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. To be a Banquet Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     NOW HIRING – Banquet Manager - As the Banquet Manager your will manage, administer, direct, control and supervise the Banquet staff to ensure efficient, friendly and professional service during events. This is a highly visible and key role responsible for the successful execution of all events at Amaterra. As Banquet Manager you are expected to work collaboratively with other managers and team members and be a brand ambassador to our customers.


    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • 2 years of experience managing staff in a customer service or hospitality environment.
    • Experience working in the wine industry preferred.
    • Degree in hospitality management or relevant field is preferred.
    • Availability to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the events.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Hire, train, evaluate, coach, and supervise banquet staff.
    • Supervise the set-up, execution, and breakdown of all events.
    • Ensure that all instructions stated on the Banquet/Event Order are followed.
    • Make arrangements for equipment needed for guest functions, ensuring it is in working order prior to the staff’s arrival for room set up.
    • Inspect food for quality and presentation prior to serving. Keep open communication with the kitchen staff, informing them of any changes or special instructions.
    • Ensure alcohol awareness policy is enforced at all times.
    • Act as liaison between Catering Sales Dept and Food & Beverage on day of event
    • Interface with external vendors, musicians, florists, photographers, keg suppliers, catering partners and other vendors.
    • Assist events team on special projects and generate reports as needed.
