    HRCU is growing! Our new office in Greenland NH will expand our business footprint to now include Rockingham County. The credit union has $425 million in assets, over 24,000 members and 90 employees. In 2023, we were recognized by Forbes as the #1 Credit Union in New Hampshire.


    We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual for this newly created position. You will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and cultivating new business opportunities while also focusing on existing business relationships throughout the credit union’s field of membership.


    With this exciting opportunity, you will lead business development from our new Greenland NH location generating new opportunities in the Portsmouth, Exeter, Hampton, and Newmarket area with your primary focus being on business relationships and member business loan growth in the region. You will also work with HRCU retail staff in nurturing and growing relationships in our current markets of Rochester/Dover as well as the opportunities to expand certain consumer offerings.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive strategies aligned with the credit union’s goal and objectives for consumer and business growth.
    • Identify business opportunities in the new market.
    • Cultivate strong and long-lasting relationships with existing and potential new members.
    • Collaborate closely with retail and lending staff to help drive business, provide guidance to maximize opportunities, and to provide exceptional trusted service for members.

    Requirements

    • Travel within the greater Seacoast area and York County Maine.
    • Experience working with civic organizations (chamber/rotary) and have a passion for community involvement with ability to attend events after business hours.
    • A bachelor’s degree in business or finance preferred. May be substituted for experience and relevant education.
    • Three years to five years’ experience in business development in financial institutions. \
    • Knowledge of business lending and portfolio management.
    • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
    • Proven sales leadership with the ability to set goals and provide business development mentoring to retail staff.
    • Develop and maintain a referral system for leads from retail staff.


    The successful candidate will be a seasoned sales professional, experienced in Business to Business (B2B) lead generation, prospecting, reporting, ability to maintain business lending knowledge, and a proven track record of relationship development.
