The Commercial Loan Processing and Operation Lead at Community Choice Credit Union will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the operational functions within the commercial lending department.  This role will ensure that lending activity is well-organized, accurate, and time sensitive. In this role you will collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure efficient loan processing, compliance with regulations, and exceptional service delivery to commercial clients.  You will be responsible for leading a team dedicated to supporting the end-to-end lending process, by coordinating processes that are efficient, detailed, and help deliver great borrower experience.  This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in commercial lending operations, process improvement, and the ability to lead a team to success.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Operational Leadership:  Develop and execute strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of commercial lending operations in alignment with the credit union’s goals and objectives.  Lead the administrative support activity within the Commercial Lending team, providing exceptional member experience. Conduct regular department assessments to ensure departmental controls, policies, and procedures are achieving accurate and desired results. Collaborate with other departments to implement and streamline processes to enhance overall operational efficiencies, reduce manual efforts, and improve turnaround times.  Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation within the commercial lending lifecycle. 

• Portfolio Management: Oversee the end-to-end processing operations, including application intake, underwriting, documentation, and closing.  Ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.  Work with lenders, borrowers, and third-party professionals to meet timelines and ensure loans are closed in conformity with approved terms and conditions. Assist lenders and analyst with portfolio management items including collection of financials, borrower request items, reporting, quality review and covenant system tracking.

• Recordkeeping: Manage loan document process prior to closing to ensure secure intended collateral and document borrower and guarantor obligations to the credit union in detail.  Complete funding and verify all pre-closing conditions are met prior to authorizing funding.

• Compliance and Regulation: Interact with auditors, compliance, and examiners to assist in department reviews and examinations. Follow-up and correct items addressed to ensure necessary changes or recommendations have been implemented as directed in a timely manner.  Stay informed about relevant regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and emerging trends in commercial lending operations. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.

Qualifications

Who We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field
• Proven experience in commercial lending operations, with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in  leading a team.
• In depth knowledge of commercial lending processes, regulations, and compliance requirements
• Proficiency in loan origination systems and banking software. 
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with LaserPro Document Management System a plus, but not required.
• Certification in lending or operations management (e.g. Certified Lending Professional, Certified Operations Specialist) is a plus.
