Bakery Clerk responds and attends to customer requests in the bakery department within a grocery store. Responsible for various duties including preparing baked goods and other items for sale, arranging and wrapping bakery products, and placing bakery items in display cases. Being a Bakery Clerk may operate machines such as bread slicers. Has knowledge of proper food handling procedures. Additionally, Bakery Clerk may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Bakery Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Job Purpose
The Freshies Deli Associate is responsibility for all aspect of food preparation and customer service by consistently and safely delivering food products that a fast and fresh and provide the customer with outstanding service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsible to day to management of staff to include building a team that delivers that meets expectation.
Responds to customer complaints concerning service, food preparation and quality.
Performs all aspects food handling and preparation in accordance with Freshies guidelines.
Accepts deliveries to include verifying order to invoice and checking product quality. Ensures product handling meets Freshies standards to include labeling, rotating, handling and storage.
May assign in training new Deli staff members, communicating proper procedures and expectations to ensure consistency.
Track information via handheld or paper processing to include waste, temperature, builds tos, etc.
Consistently performs to all food safety and sanitation procedures as outlined in Freshies Food Manual.
Follows Freshies standards for overall Deli appearance, cleanliness, and organization to include, but not limited to; personal uniform standards, equipment cleanliness and proper execution of cleaning schedule.
Uses only RHF approved products and items are used for food preparation, cleaning, and safety.
Follows handling procedures are followed to include the use of; temperature charts, thermometers, gloves, etc.
Handles and prepares all food products in accordance with Freshies specification.
Informs Freshies Deli Manager if any changes within the Deli have been or need to be made.

Education and/or Experience

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
