Back to Back is a vinyl spinning restaurant located in the neighborhood of Nob Hill, which serves natural wines, wood fired pizzas, and shared plates influenced by new american cuisine. The kitchen is led by Jordanian chef, Saif Alomari, whose goal is to provide a friendly and inviting, neighborhood atmosphere to the warm folks of Nob Hill.
The Role
We are looking for an ambitious Captain to run front of house operations at Back to Back on a nightly basis (from Tuesday through Saturday). Candidates must have experience in hospitality and have a strong passion in delivering the best guest experience to our customers. The Captain will be expected to manage the front of house staff (2-3 servers, and a busser), and will work closely with the chef and owners on training the team and determining the schedule for each week.
The Captain must understand the ins and outs of the menu and wine list, to then disseminate knowledge to the team, determine upsell strategies, and potentially help influence future versions of the menu. They will be measured on guest satisfaction, average spend per customer, and maintaining strong margins. All of which will be reviewed in monthly P&L meetings with leadership & management.
This role will be demanding as Back to Back is growing in popularity—quick problem solving, strong business acumen, and great communication skills will be critical to the success of this role.
