Aviation Manager manages overall aviation operations focused on operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory and organizational operating policies, procedures, and standards. Develops plans and schedules skill development and training sessions for pilots, crews, and operators. Being a Aviation Manager ensures all operations follow and comply with current FAA regulations, airworthiness, and safety standards. Oversees flight scheduling, aircraft maintenance, and inspection operations. Additionally, Aviation Manager applies risk management best practices for safety to assess and manage operations May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Aviation Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Aviation Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Job Description

    Our Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the highest standards of safety across all airport operations. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs, policies, and procedures, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. You will conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments, identifying potential hazards and recommending preventive measures. Additionally, the Safety Manager collaborates with various departments and personnel to promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement in safety practices.

    • Provide safety training and education to employees at all levels
    • Investigate safety incidents and accidents, and recommend preventive measures

    Physical activity may include:

    • Stand and walk for extended periods of time
    • Ability to lift 70 pounds or more
    • Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment
    • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

    Qualifications

    • Minimum age of 18 years old
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in aviation safety management
    • Thorough knowledge of aviation safety regulations and industry best practices
    • Proven experience in safety program development and implementation
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
    • Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tablets
    • Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
    • Ability to pass a drug screen
    • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
