Aviation Manager manages overall aviation operations focused on operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory and organizational operating policies, procedures, and standards. Develops plans and schedules skill development and training sessions for pilots, crews, and operators. Being a Aviation Manager ensures all operations follow and comply with current FAA regulations, airworthiness, and safety standards. Oversees flight scheduling, aircraft maintenance, and inspection operations. Additionally, Aviation Manager applies risk management best practices for safety to assess and manage operations May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Aviation Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     Job Description

    Our Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of airport operations, ensuring efficient and safe airport functioning. This role involves managing a team of operations staff, coordinating with airlines and airport authorities, and implementing operational procedures and policies. The Operations Manager also plays a crucial role in crisis management, responding to emergencies and operational disruptions effectively. Additionally, this position requires continuous analysis and improvement of operational processes to enhance efficiency and passenger experience.

    • Physical activity may include:
    • Stand and walk for extended periods of time
    • Ability to lift 70 pounds or more
    • Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms generated by terminal environment
    • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors); Peripheral Vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

    Qualifications

    • Minimum age of 18 years old
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in airport operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
    • In-depth knowledge of airport operational procedures and regulatory requirements
    • Strong leadership and team management skills
    • Excellent communication and decision-making abilities
    • Proficient in using aviation-specific software and technology
    • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and handle emergencies effectively
    • Knowledge of the Aviation Industry is a plus
    • Comfortable working with computers, mobile devices, and tablets
    • Ability to pass a drug screen
    • Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable)
