Aviation Manager manages overall aviation operations focused on operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory and organizational operating policies, procedures, and standards. Develops plans and schedules skill development and training sessions for pilots, crews, and operators. Being a Aviation Manager ensures all operations follow and comply with current FAA regulations, airworthiness, and safety standards. Oversees flight scheduling, aircraft maintenance, and inspection operations. Additionally, Aviation Manager applies risk management best practices for safety to assess and manage operations May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management. The Aviation Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     Foth is currently seeking a passionate and results-driven Project Manager - Aviation Design, looking to advance their career while utilizing the latest technology in a team-oriented and client-focused work environment. This opportunity will work out of our Louisville, KY office as part of Foth's .

    Foth's Aviation Team supports both commercial and general aviation clients across the Southeastern and Midwestern US, providing civil engineering and construction solutions for airside and landside projects. In this role, you will provide civil engineering and construction solutions for widely diverse infrastructure projects at one of Kentucky's largest airports. Projects include improvements and upgrades to infrastructure systems involving aircraft aprons, taxiways, and runways, as well as landside systems including buildings, roadways, and utilities. You will be an integral part of providing solutions essential to the long-term sustainability of our client and other major airports in the region.     Primary Responsibilities:
    • Deliver engineering design solutions for aviation clients and their projects, including runways, taxiways, aprons, utilities, NAVAIDS, storm water and drainage, parking, lighting, pavement marking, and construction phasing
    • Complete feasibility studies and technical design reports
    • Attend client project meetings, participate in proposals/presentations, manage projects, meet with regulatory agencies, and serve as a client project contact
    • Lead, coordinate and build teamwork among other team members and disciplines at all levels
    • Engage in both construction observation and construction administration services


    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program
    • Professional Engineer License in Kentucky or ability to obtain license within 12 months of start date
    • Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D software in design applications
    • 5 -10 years of related design experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D
    • Previous experience in construction observation and construction administration
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Professional Engineer License in Kentucky
    • 1-2 years of Aviation design experience and applied knowledge of FAA design standards (May be willing to consider remote candidates that have a strong Aviation design background)
