Aviation Manager manages overall aviation operations focused on operational efficiency and compliance with regulatory and organizational operating policies, procedures, and standards. Develops plans and schedules skill development and training sessions for pilots, crews, and operators.     A Day In The Life of a Strategic Buyer / Account Manager

    As the Strategic Buyer / Account Manager, you are responsible for coordinating activities involved with procuring aircraft components, tooling, and supplies to service existing customers and contracts.

     

    Essential Duties of The Strategic Buyer / Account Manager

    • Identify vendors, OEMs, and alternate sources for a set of 3,000 unique part numbers.
    • Monitor market prices and availability for assigned groups of part numbers.
    • Identify and use various tools to cross-reference different data sets for historical trends and forecasting.
    • Identify and recommend parts acquisition based on historical trends, market data, and forecasts.
    • Maintain existing vendor base and develop alternate sources of components to meet demand.
    • Negotiate acquisition packages, individual items, and vendor contract terms.
    • Ensure all procured components meet quality standards per contract terms.
    • Perform cost analysis of various components in AR, SV, OH, or FN conditions and make recommendations accordingly.
    • Complete ownership of a set scope of parts and its procurement lifecycle.
    • Ensure lead times are met according to contract deliverables.
    • Prepares and issues purchase orders.
    • Work with the program manager and sales staff in the preparation of bids and responses to solicitations.
    • Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine the source of trouble and take corrective action.
    • Approve invoices for payment.
    • Review purchase orders for accuracy to make sure the best prices are obtained.
    • Maintain procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
    • Ensure all procedures, processes, and activities related to the supply chain are performed according to company standard operating procedure manuals and customer requirements, offering suggestions for improvement as needed.
    • Identify product solutions for customers and sales staff.
    • Complete tasks in company ERP for the life cycle of the task ·
    • Act as an account manager for government customers, managing contracts and maintaining those
      relationships.
    • After business hours will occasionally be required.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
     
    Qualifications: 
    • Must be a United States citizen.
    • Five to eight years of aircraft components procurement
    • Experience in KC-46 Tanker or 767-Series aircraft parts provisioning, procurement, and general MRO is preferred.
    • Demonstrated experience in account management.
    • Expert level in Excel.
    • Excellent negotiation skills
    • Proficient in ERP systems and SOPs.
    • Remain calm and professional in stressful situations.
    • Friendly, courteous, service-oriented, and flexible, and enjoy working with a variety of staff.
    • Detail-oriented and works effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines.
    • Must be able to work independently and with little direct supervision.
