Auditing Supervisor supervises the day-to-day execution of a comprehensive enterprise-wide internal auditing strategy, function, and practice adhering to auditing standards and regulatory requirements. Supports auditing teams with resources, training, expertise, and problem-solving help to complete auditing projects. Being an Auditing Supervisor uses auditing governance frameworks and procedures to plan and manage the auditing schedules, projects, teams, and tasks required to meet defined objectives. Engages with other functions across the enterprise, like risk, finance, information technology, and security, to facilitate audits. Additionally, Auditing Supervisor prepares audit reports, documentation, and recommendations for enhanced controls or processes. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require or be working towards a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Typically reports to a manager. The Auditing Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an Auditing Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     AUDITING PROGRAM ASSISTANT

    Part Time $19.57 per hour

    Up to 28 Hours per week

    The State of New Hampshire, Liquor Commission has a vacancy for a Part Time Program Assistant II.

    Summary:

    To perform paraprofessional duties assisting the Liquor Commission Examiner III in the Beverage Tax Program, to include reviewing and auditing tax reports for completeness and proper reporting in accordance with NH Liquor Laws, administrative rules and Federal Alcohol regulations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Provides guidance, information, explanation, problem-solving, and resolution with regards to the State of New Hampshire Alcohol, Beverage, and Tobacco (Title XIII) laws, administrative rules and procedures to agency employees, administrative personnel, licensees, and the citizens of the state.

    • Conducts reviews and audits of monthly Beverage Tax Reports to verify there are no discrepancies and to confirm compliance with the rules. Provides assistance to wholesaler, beverage vendor, and manufacturer licensees to ensure completion of forms for accurate filings and evaluates forms for proper filing, verifying proper receipt of funds.

    • Provides exceptional customer service in person, in writing, and over the telephone assisting customers with State liquor laws, Title XIII rules, Administrative rules, and compliance. Expert assistance provided in areas such as obtaining a license, understanding the monthly reporting requirements, and overdue payments.

    • Maintains inventory of samples received for product approval by following product receipt procedures, labeling processes, and maintaining the Division’s product sample directory.

    • Acts as an official representative of the agency through all internal and external communications.

    • Recognizes that everyone we come into contact with is a customer and treat all with courtesy, respect, and the utmost professionalism.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited institute of higher education with a major study in accounting or business management. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.

    Experience: Three years of experience in accounting or auditing work, with responsibility for providing program information to others. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.

    License/Certification: Valid driver’s license and/or access to transportation for travel within or outside state.

    SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority.


    PREFERRED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and methods. Ability to perform mathematical computations appropriate to the job assigned. Ability to prepare comprehensive, documented audit reports. Ability to learn appropriate N.H. Title XIII laws and regulations as well as Federal Alcohol laws and regulations. Ability to discuss Liquor laws with direct shippers, their representatives, or with employees. Ability to write business letters and make necessary telephone contacts. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with direct shippers, other employees and the general public. Ability to work out controversial matters in a tactful manner.
