Uses auditing governance frameworks and procedures to plan and manage the auditing schedules, projects, teams, and tasks required to meet defined objectives. Being an Auditing Director engages with other functions across the enterprise, like risk, finance, information technology, and security, to facilitate audits. Prepares audit reports and recommends enhanced controls or processes as needed. Additionally, Auditing Director builds auditing teams and expertise with coaching and developmental initiatives. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically requires a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). May sometimes require Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). Typically reports to a director. The Auditing Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Auditing Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
