Audiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of hearing, balance, and ear disorders. Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Being an Audiologist evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Reviews charts, test results, and other patient data to understand issues and develop treatment programs to alleviate symptoms and treat disorders. Additionally, Audiologist monitors and evaluates treatment progress and adjusts care plan as necessary. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for customers. May require Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in some states. Requires a master's degree in audiology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Job Summary:
We are a private audiology practice seeking a skilled and compassionate Audiologist to join our team. As an Audiologist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with hearing and balance disorders. You will work closely with our pediatric patients and their parents and our adult patients to assess their needs, provide personalized treatment plans, and offer ongoing support. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric audiology, audiology anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive audiological evaluations to assess hearing and balance function
- Conduct Newborn hearing screenings – ABR’s and OAE’s
- Conduct Auditory Processing testing
- Interpret test results and provide accurate diagnoses of all testing types you perform
- Develop personalized treatment plans based on individual patient needs
- Administer hearing tests, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, and tympanometry
- Fit and dispense hearing aids and assistive listening devices
- Provide counseling and education to patients regarding hearing loss management and communication strategies
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in audiology research and technology
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to the auditory system
- Proficient in diagnostic evaluation techniques for hearing and balance disorders
- Familiarity with aseptic technique for performing procedures
- Ability to interpret medical imaging related to the auditory system
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including a child’s parent(s)
- Strong problem-solving abilities to develop individualized treatment plans
Qualifications:
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Audiology from an accredited program
- Valid Florida state license or certification as an Audiologist
- Prior experience working as an Audiologist preferred but not required (Strong Pediatric background preferred)
