Audiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of hearing, balance, and ear disorders. Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Being an Audiologist evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Reviews charts, test results, and other patient data to understand issues and develop treatment programs to alleviate symptoms and treat disorders. Additionally, Audiologist monitors and evaluates treatment progress and adjusts care plan as necessary. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for customers. May require Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in some states. Requires a master's degree in audiology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Audiologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.   • Worth Hearing Center is an independent community-oriented audiology practice providing hearing health care services to patients in the Albuquerque, NM, area. They are looking for a patient-focused and competent Audiologist for their Rio Rancho location.

    The Audiologist will be responsible for administering diagnostic audiometric tests, counseling and educating patients on hearing loss and treatment options, dispensing hearing aids, performing outcome measures for fitting verification, and taking full responsibility for the complete patient journey.


    Responsibilities

    • Providing comprehensive, diagnostic hearing evaluations for primarily adult patients
    • Conducting audiometric testing and providing recommendations for hearing aids
    • Evaluating, diagnosing, and providing treatment and rehabilitation for tinnitus patients
    • Hearing aid verification, including Real Ear Measurement and Speech Mapping.
    • Fitting hearing aids and assisting with any adjustments, questions, or problems


    Requirements

    • Au.D or Master’s Degree in Audiology
    • Licensed in New Mexico, or the ability to obtain a New Mexico license before the start date
    • The ability to prioritize and handle a high volume of patients
    • Strong compassion, care, and respect for patients
