Audiologist evaluates, diagnoses, and treats a variety of hearing, balance, and ear disorders. Administers and interprets a variety of tests, such as air and bone conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on comprehension and speech. Being an Audiologist evaluates test results in relation to behavioral, social, educational, and medical information obtained from patients, families, teachers, and other professionals. Reviews charts, test results, and other patient data to understand issues and develop treatment programs to alleviate symptoms and treat disorders. Additionally, Audiologist monitors and evaluates treatment progress and adjusts care plan as necessary. Programs, fits, and adjusts hearing aids for customers. May require Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) in some states. Requires a master's degree in audiology. Typically requires Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A). Requires State License based on Clinical Specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Audiologist's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.   • Amergis Staffing is currently seeking an Audiologist to provide services in support of Veteran Affairs in Olympia, Washington.

    Services are being provided for Medical Disability Examinations under the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) Medical Disability Examinations (MDE) program. Exams are commonly referred to as Compensation and Pension examinations (C&P) to Veterans seeking benefits for service-connected health issues. Clinical findings from the examinations are delivered to the Government to facilitate timely disability award determinations. No previous experience with these programs is required.

    Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am - 4pm

    Details
    • Hearing Loss and Tinnitus evaluations (Audiology C&P Exam)
    • 30 minutes minimum required per appointment
    • The Contractor shall perform puretone audiometric and speech recognition test with the Maryland CNC word list in a sound proof Audio booth; Audio booth and equipment must be properly calibrated to maintain ANSI standards
    • Complete report package must be delivered within 2 calendar days from the date of the consultative exam
    • May include Audiogram, Stenger, Tympanometry & Reflex, Ear Wax Removal, Puretone Hearing Test (Air), Diagnostic Testing, Medical Opinions

    Minimum Requirements:
    Current state license as an Audiologist.
    Graduate or four year degree program accredited by the American Speech and Hearing Association, and holds or is eligible for a certificate of clinical competence granted by the American Speech and Hearing Association preferred.
    Current CPR card.
