    General Description / Primary Purpose
    The AV Tech Coordinator, under the direction of a Manager or above, assists in the design, development and implementation of departmental processes and/or programs; May recommend policies and procedures to ensure effective coordination of departmental programs.
    Essential Duties

    Job Function
    • Provides support for hardware and software platforms used for instructional delivery with a focus on remote teaching technologies.
    • Supports and maintains equipment related to remote teaching and learning.
    • Provides top level support for conferencing technologies including Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Cisco Webex.
    • Support on-campus and remote faculty using conferencing technologies to conduct and deliver instruction.
    • Provide technology support for audio-visual technologies used to deliver online courses, including cameras, microphones, headsets, speaker systems and content sharing devices.
    • Troubleshoots issues with audio visual hardware used in instructional delivery.
    • Serve as escalation point for faculty and staff requests and incidents related to conferencing and conferencing technology.
    • Supports meeting and webinar configurations for advanced features like breakout rooms, polling, cohosting and secure sharing.
    • Advise faculty and staff on hardware and software purchases following University procurement guidelines.
    • Provide training and guidance in using audio visual and computer technology.
    • Troubleshoot use of conferencing technology on broad spectrum of devices including, tablets, traditional computers, conferencing devices, room systems and mobile phones.
    • Configure and maintain conferencing devices including room systems, conferencing carts and other technologies.
    • Provides support for instructional spaces on campus with remote learning capabilities. Including spaces used to deliver distance learning courses, in-person courses and hybrid/hyflex courses.
    • Update and maintain firmware and operating system software used by conferencing technologies.
    • Create and publish knowledge articles related to support area and domain of expertise.
    • Fulfill service requests and resolve incidents assigned to support area.
    • Support conference space technology including cameras, audio systems, microphone systems and room control devices.
    • Coordinate with peer technical teams to resolve issues and implement new designs.
    • Assist in training faculty and staff in the use of conferencing technology. Includes classroom technology, office technology, room system technology and associated software.
    • Provide support for AV and digital signage installations.
    • Deliver high quality customer service.
    • Maintains equipment inventory. May manage equipment checkouts and maintenance.

    Required Qualifications
    This position requires either (a) Master’s degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization; (b) Bachelor’s degree from an acceptable accredited institution in a directly related area of specialization and two years of experience directly related to the job functions; or (c ) 6 years of direct experience.

    • Experience with Extron and Crestron systems hardware and software
    • Knowledge of AV classroom systems infrastructure designs
    • Basic Extron configuration/ programming skills, and basic troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to prepare system documentation, interprets and apply technical information, plan, organize, coordinate work assignments, and communicate effectively.
