Athletic Trainer treats and prevents athletic injuries by developing therapies to reduce pain and improve mobility under the direction of a physician. Assists in exercise instruction and demonstration, patient evaluation and testing. Being an Athletic Trainer may require state license to practice. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in exercise science, sports science or equivalent. Additionally, Athletic Trainer typically requires certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Athletic Trainer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.   • Rice Memorial High School is seeking a full-time Athletic Trainer to provide athletic training services for after school hours including home games and practices with limited travel coverage to some away contests. This is a 10-month, benefits-eligible, salaried position spanning from mid-August through mid-June. This position will work in conjunction with the head athletic trainer/assistant athletic director under the supervision of the athletic director.     Founded in 1917 as Cathedral High School, Rice Memorial High School's mission for over 100 years has been to guide its students to discover their God-given potential by learning how to recognize and develop their gifts, love learning, serve others, and seek God. Its students come from various towns across the state of Vermont and as well as internationally from Canada, Europe, and China. As a member of the Vermont Principals Association (VPA), Rice offers 16 varsity sports and 13 other teams across three seasons as well as two prep school level hockey programs. Rice Memorial has a tradition of successful athletic programs, and winning is a natural goal.

Recognition, evaluation, and assessment of athletic/orthopedic injuries or illness. Immediate care of athletic/orthopedic injury or illness.

    Treatment, rehabilitation, and reconditioning of athletes with athletic or orthopedic injuries or illness. Assistance to coaches with physical development programs for teams.Assist head athletic trainer in organization and implementation of any and all safety and student well-being protocols as required.Assist head athletic trainer in organization and administration of the athletic training program and facilities. Duties may include but are not limited to: Bid preparation Ordering supplies Maintain inventory Maintain proper medical records, injury reports, and daily treatment logs Providing athletic training coverage for home athletic events and practices within hourly constraints Maintenance of the athletic training room Coordinate efforts with coaches, parents, and other qualified allied health personnel Supply teams with appropriate medical kits for their activities Professional development, maintaining certifications, and quality of care. Refer athletes to physicians and other medical personnel as needed.Oversee CPR/AED/EAP training and certification in compliance with VPA requirements
